&nbsp;FKPM is the umbrella body through which local pharmaceutical manufacturers articulate and convey their interests to relevant forums regarding policies, regulations, trade and quality. It has 24 members who comprise of local manufacturing companies for both Human and Veterinary medicines.
The vision for the manufacturing sector is the development of &ldquo;robust, diversified and competitive manufacturing&rdquo;.
This will be achieved by focusing on three strategic thrusts:
i) Local production; ii) regional market expansion, iii) Global market niche.
The objectives of the federation are to mention but a few:
1. To Promote and protect at all times the interests of the manufacturers of pharmaceutical products in Kenya.
2. To Promote development of pharmaceutical products in Kenya in consultation with the authorities to meet the needs of the country.
3. To Project the ethical image of the manufacturers and pharmaceutical products manufactured and marketed in Kenya.
4. To Encourage use of raw materials locally available, of right quality, in manufacture of their products in view of making the manufacturing industry self reliance.
FKPM Implements the above objectives as follows;
1. By safeguarding the rights and privileges of manufacturers of pharmaceutical, surgical and allied products
2. By seeking concurrence or common grounds through open discussion and dealings with all matters affecting the product development, research, manufacturing, marketing authorization and marketing of pharmaceutical products.
3. By making representations to the Government, Public authorities and other related association or individuals concerning the product development, research,
manufacturing, marketing authorization whether in Kenya or elsewhere and sale of pharmaceutical and allied products.
4. By dissemination of scientific information amongst the manufacturers, public officials, professional and staff in the sector, consumers and any other persons or bodies having the same interest
5. By making recommendations of desirable standards in the manufacturing industry concerning pharmaceutical surgical and allied products.

FKPM membership is voluntary The following are among the benefits and resources FKPM provides to its members. Website at www.fkpm.co.ke; The members-only portion of the website contains, a directory of members and a great deal of information on the organization and soon to be included in the website; meeting minutes, committee lists and communications, meeting announcements and news. Annual Meeting: The annual meeting is held in January or early February; this will be confirmed to all members once the date is set. Bi-monthly meeting; FKPM holds its bi-monthly meetings on the first Saturday after every two months to check on progress of the Federation and other issues regarding the pharmaceutical Industry. Committees: If you are interested in joining a committee, please contact the committee chair directly. This information will be mailed to you on request. The committee minutes available on request will give you an idea of the current activities of the committee. Services and Trainings: FKPM together with its associate members offers trainings (professional pharmaceutical courses) and services to its members. This always applies to those who are fully paid members
